Beer Posters is a collaborative piece with artist Robert Wechsler. They first observed the drip poster as a happy accident resulting from a careless liquor store that left its advertisements out in the rain. The posters were extremely inexpensive digital prints and were highly susceptible to water. After collecting the already dripped posters from the outdoor signs the artists proceeded to purchase all the beer posters we could from inside the store. They then recreated these drippings by mounting these posters in a gallery and spraying them with water. In effect they were corrupting the images in a way that enhanced its aesthetic significance. The posters base messages were blurred out while the brilliant colors and patterns were enhanced by the organic flow of the water over the vulnerable ink.
