Worn Out is built from a thousand of the artist's old practice balls when he was an aspiring tennis player. Each ball represents a brick used to once pave his yellow brick road. In this sculpture their purpose and functions have been readdressed for the amusement of others. In front of the carpet is a low set monitor, displaying a video of the artist practicing a bucket of my tennis serves, enticing the audience not to just walk over, but to sit and be apart of the piece. The video is repetitive and monotonous, almost meditative, the way practice always felt to the artist. The serves hit with proper technique are slowed down to be enhanced and savored.
